Bookings will be open from 14th July for the SUV, price is expected to be between Rs. 11 lakh to Rs. 21 lakh (ex-showroom)
Kia has unveiled the facelift for the Seltos midsize SUV. The 2023 Kia Seltos made its global debut last year and has now been brought to Indian shores. Bookings for the SUV will open on July 14 2023. New for 2023 is a new face, new rear, new wheels, updated cabin, more features, ADAS and a new engine.
In terms of design changes, the new 2023 Kia Seltos facelift gets new headlamps with reprofiled LEDs, and ice-cube shaped LED foglamps, suquential turn indicators and a new connected LED bar at the rear. The grille too has been changed and so has been the bumper which also gets a new skid plate. The rear has a redesigned tailgate, a new skid plate and new twin-exhaust tips. It rides on 18-inch glossy black alloys. Kia is offering the 2023 Seltos facelift in 11 colour options including eight solid, two dual-done and the X-Line matte colours.
Kia has improved both the premiumness of the cabin as well as the amount of tech offered. There is a panoramic sunroof, a dual-tone climate control, a fully-digital instrument panel, and a 10.25-inch infotainment display. Comfort features include ventilated seats, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, Bose audio system, air purifier, 360-degree camera and 67 smart features.
To take on the Hyundai Creta, Kia has armed the new Seltos with Level 2 ADAS tech which along with the standard safety suite makes a total of 32 safety features for the Seltos. This includes collision avoidance, collision warning, Smart cruise control with stop and go, blind spot monitoring, collision mitigation to name a few. Only the Honda Elevate (yet to be launched), Tata Harrier and the MG Astor offer ADAS features in the midsize-SUV segment.
Kia has announced that the 2023 Kia Seltos facelift will be offered with three engine options and five gearbox options. Earlier the brand discontinued the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol which has now been replaced with the more powerful 160bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine. This is offered with a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT. The 1.5-litre NA petrol still makes 115bhp and is offered with a 6-speed manual or IVT. The 1.5-litre diesel makes 116bhp and is offered solely with a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed AT. Kia will not be offering a manual transmission with the diesel engine.
The 2023 Kia Seltos facelift will compete primarily against the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. It will also compete with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor and the Honda Elevate which will be launched soon. Expected to be priced between INR 11 to 23 lakh, ex-showroom.
