Prices for Mahindra Thar rival compact SUV Jimny has been revealed by Maruti Suzuki in previous week
It didn’t went as expected, Maruti Suzuki has announced the prices to introduce Jimny in premium compact SUV segment. As everybody expected it to start from Rs. 10 lakh and should go up to Rs. 13 lakh (ex-showroom), but Maruti had something different thoughts about its proven off-roader. And the price range starts from Rs. 12.74 lakh and goes up to Rs. 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Jimny is a five door compact SUV, offers our seats and a decent boot, which makes it more practical than its rival Mahindra Thar. It comes only with a petrol engine. Maruti Suzuki Jimny offers 211 litre of boot space after folding rear seat. It has height of 1720mm with 210mm ground clearance to steer through every obstacle with inimitable ease. Length including spare wheel with cover is 3985mm, which enhances its manoeuvrability with a minimum turning radius of 5.7m. Height is 1645mm.
The 1.5 litre petrol engine produces 103.3bhp of power and 134.2Nm torque. There are two transmission options available to chose from, 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic. Along with AllGrip PRO, Jimny makes the most challenging terrains a breeze to drive on. Jimny’s fuel tank capacity is 40 litres, means, more adventure, lesser fuel stops. Maruti Suzuki claims 16.94kmpl in MT and 16.39kmpl mileage in AT.
To keep your spirit of adventure going, the new Jimny comes equipped with 6 airbags which come as standard across all variants. Adding to the list is ABS, EBD, ESP, Side-Impact Door Beams, Brake Assist function, ISOFIX Child Seat Anchorages, Seatbelt Pretensioner, Rear View Camera and Engine Immobiliser.
