The Rumion MPV is available in both petrol and CNG
Toyota has launched the Rumion MPV in the Indian market, offering a starting price of Rs. 10.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Prospective buyers can secure their Rumion MPV by making a booking with a nominal fee of Rs. 11,000. Notably, the Toyota Rumion shares its core engineering with the popular Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
The Toyota Rumion is equipped with the same 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine that powers the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. This engine delivers 101.59bhp of maximum power and 137Nm of peak torque in the petrol variant, and 86.79bhp of maximum power and 121Nm of peak torque in the CNG variant. The petrol version offers both a 5-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the CNG variant is available with a 5-speed manual transmission.
This collaboration is a result of the global partnership between Toyota and Suzuki. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) has shared three of its models – Baleno, Vitara Brezza, and Ertiga – with Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM). In return, TKM has contributed the Innova Hycross to India’s largest carmaker. Furthermore, both automakers have jointly developed a vehicle, known as the Grand Vitara/Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
The claimed fuel efficiency for the Toyota Rumion is impressive, with figures of 20.51kmpl for the petrol manual, 20.11kmpl for the petrol automatic, and 26.11km/kg for the CNG manual.
