Nexon EV leads the sale along side Tiago EV and Tigor EV
Commenting on this, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, “Today is a momentous occasion for us as we celebrate a very important milestone of 1 Lakh Tata EVs. This milestone gives us a sense of satisfaction that our bold move to enter the electrification has helped the acceptance of a technology that will accelerate India towards net carbon zero. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our EV customers, the government, our investors, the Tata uniEVerse Ecosystem companies, for their constant support. Together, we are moving India forward towards green mobility.
Tata Motors has had a remarkable experience guiding the EV revolution in India over the past three years. The distance between the first 10K and the first 1 lakh EVs has been steadily closing, with the last 50K being reached in just 9 months. Tata Motors lit up the skies with a breathtaking drone display to commemorate this momentous anniversary, illuminating its journey from dream to reality.
Tata EVs, which are reshaping the future of mobility, have travelled 1.4 billion kilometres, an incredible feat equivalent to three journeys around the sun. The combined efforts of the consumers have saved an impressive 2,19,432 tons of CO2 emissions, ushering in an era of decreased carbon emissions and pollution.
Economically speaking, Tata EV customers have saved an astounding INR 7 billion on fuel expenditures over the course of owning their electric cars. This significant cost savings highlights the technology’s affordability and sustainability.
For its next step, Tata Motors is set to unveil the Harrier EV, the Sierra EV, the Curvv and the Avinya. These have already been revealed previously at the Auto Expo 2023, and will expand Tata’s portfolio to much more premium cars and electric SUVs.
