The top spec Exclusive Pro variant will be available with upgraded ADAS tech
MG Motor India has introduced a new variant of the ZS EV electric SUV in India. The MG ZS EV Exclusive Pro is priced at Rs 27.90 lakh (introductory) and brings ADAS Level-2 to the electric SUV. The ADAS features offered with the Exclusive Pro trim add a premium of INR 60,000 over the exclusive trim.
Everything else about the ZS EV is unchanged including the feature list and looks. The Autonomous Level 2 ADAS tech brings in a range of extra features to the MG ZS EV. The setting is available in three levels of sensitivity – Low, Medium and High which can be manually adjusted by the user. This adjusts the degree of safety and autonomous interference that the car provides.
There are three methods for warning as well which includes haptic, audio and visual. The TJA or Traffic Jam Assist ensures that the ZS EV can drive itself in traffic conditions. The Forward Collision Warning ensures that the ZS EV can detect and mitigate accidents while the Adaptive Cruise Control adds another level to the comfort of driving.
Speaking about the launch of the new ZS EV variant, Gaurav Gupta, Deputy MD, MG Motor India said, “The globally successful MG ZS EV brings with it safety and convenience with the introduction of Autonomous Level 2 (ADAS) and underscores MG’s commitment to electric mobility and a sustainable future. By offering a viable, attractive ownership experience, and an accessible electric SUV to Indian consumers, MG Motor India aims to accelerate the transition towards a zero-emission future and help boost the EV ecosystem in India.”
Everything else in the MG ZS EV has remained unchanged and it continues to use a 50.3kWh battery pack which gives it a claimed single charge range of 461 km. This battery powers a single electric motor which makes 176bhp and 280 Nm of torque which can launch the SUV from 0 to 100kmph in just 8.5 seconds.
The new trim is offered in two price levels, the higher one being for the dual tone paint scheme. With the MG ZS Exclusive Pro, the SUV now has three trim levels. It competes primarily against the Hyundai Kona in the Indian market but lower down the ladder you have the Mahindra XUV400 and the Tata Nexon EV Max while a price ladder up gets you the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
