Maruti Suzuki Invicto launched, price starts at Rs. 24.79 lakh

The Invicto is solely offered with the strong-hybrid powertrain unlike Toyota Innova Hycross

India’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki has launched the Invicto full-size MPV. The Invicto is the rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross and is priced at Rs 28.42 lakh (ex-showroom). The Invicto is solely offered with the strong-hybrid powertrain unlike the Innova, which is also offered in a mild-hybrid variant.

Similar to the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the Innova Hycross and the Invicto are basically the same car except for certain cosmetic changes. The nose of the Invicto is different with a different grille and chrome detailing as well as different 17-inch alloy wheels.

Maruti Suzuki has given the Invicto an all black cabin layout. This is complemented with champagne gold accents and soft-touch fabric inserts. Features include 8-way electrically powered drivers seat, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control split between the front and the rear, a 10.1-inch infotainment display, 7-inch digital instrument cluster with changeable modes, door sunshade, powered tailgate and a panoramic sunroof.

As mentioned earlier, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto only comes in a single engine option i.e. the 2.0-litre petrol engine mated to an electric motor. This system produces 184bhp, while individually the engine produces 150bhp and the electric motor makes 112bhp. Torque is rated at 188Nm for the engine and 206Nm for the electric motor. This entire system is mated to an e-CVT and also gets EV, Normal, Eco and Power driving modes. Maruti Suzuki claims a fuel efficiency of 23.24kmpl

In terms of safety the Maruti Suzuki Invicto boasts of six airbags, all disc brakes, ABS with EBD, VSC, hill-hold assist, ISOFIX mounts and a TPMS.

There are three variants on offer – Zeta+ 7-seater, Zeta+ 8-seater and Alpha+ 7-seater. Prices start at Rs 24.79 lakh for the Zeta+ 7-seater and goes up to Rs 29.42 lakh for the Alpha+ 7-seater. The Hycross is slightly more expensive than the Invicto, but this is because Maruti Suzuki has opted to omit certain features in their version. (prices ex-showroom)
