The Dio 125 will be available in two variants Standard and H-Smart
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced the new Dio 125 scooter in India. The Standard variant of this scooter is available at a price of Rs 83,400 (ex-showroom). The Dio 125 is equipped with the same 125cc engine that has been serving Honda in the Activa 125 for quite some time.
Speaking on the launch, Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President and CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “With the launch of Honda Dio in 2002, HMSI introduced India with the concept of moto-scooter. Its dynamic and aggressive motorcycle-inspired appearance combined with the convenience of a scooter soon made it one of the most liked scooters in the country. In its all-new 125cc avatar, the Honda Dio 125 has been specially designed and developed to fulfill the aspirations of young Indian customers.”
2023 Honda Dio 125 : new features
The Dio 125 comes with Honda’s H-Smart tech, which includes features like a smart key, smart find, smart unlock, smart start, and smart safe. Additionally, it offers a start/stop system, silent starter, digital instrument cluster, LED headlights, dual-function fuel filler, and under-seat storage opener. Honda provides a massive 10-year warranty on the scooter, which includes 3 years as standard and 7 years extended at an added cost.

2023 Honda Dio 125: engine
Powering the 2023 Honda Dio 125 is the brand’s proven 125cc motor, which features Honda Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology. This technology optimizes the engine’s output by maximizing combustion and reducing friction. eSP integrates various features such as ACG starter, improvised tumble flow, Programmed Fuel Injection, friction reduction, improved combustion, and a solenoid valve. Although Honda has not released the performance figures for the Dio 125, it is expected to be similar to the engine’s output in the Activa 125 which is 8.3bhp and 10.4Nm of torque.
2023 Honda Dio 125: rivals
The Honda Dio 125 is available in two variants – the Standard variant priced at Rs 83,400 and the H-Smart variant priced at Rs 91,300. Customers can choose from a range of seven colors. The Dio 125 primarily competes with the Suzuki Avenis and the Yamaha RayZR 125, both of which are priced slightly higher than the Honda.
