The second-gen GLC has finally been launched in India, and is a huge upgrade over the older car
Mercedes-Benz has launched the 2024 GLC SUV in India with prices starting at Rs 73.5 lakh. The new-gen SUV is bigger, more powerful and comes loaded with more tech than before. The brand also used the opportunity to announce that the SUV has already garnered 1,500 bookings.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC exterior design
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV is a car which does look similar to the older one, but has grown in size. It is 60mm longer and has a 15mm longer wheelbase, which benefits the second row passengers. The headlamps and the LED DRLs are sculpted and blend into the grille, which is now bolder and larger. The rear houses new LED taillamps. The SUV gets 19-inch alloy wheels.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC interior and features
The SUV now has a revamped cabin with a 11.9-inch tilted infotainment that comes enabled with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is a 12.3-inch instrument display as well, this along with the infotainment display run the latest-gen MBUX UI. The luxury quotient of the SUV has been enhanced with the options for interior trims and upholstery. Features include multi-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, heated front seats, electrically adjustable seats and a premium 15-speaker Burmester audio system.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC powertrain options
The GLC is available in the GLC 300 and the GLC 220d guise, the former uses a 2.0-litre petrol engine making 258bhp and the latter uses a 197bhp diesel motor. Both come with an integrated starter motor which adds 23bhp and 200Nm of torque. Mercedes-Benz offers 4Matic AWD as standard on both the engine options.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC pricing
The GLC 300 is priced at Rs 73.5 lakh while the diesel GLC 220d is priced at Rs 74.5 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. At this price point, the SUV is pricier compared to its rivals which includes the BMW X3, the Audi Q5, Volvo XC60, Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Lexus NX.
