The motor and battery pack are covered by an 8-year or 1,60,000km (whichever comes first) warranty
Tata Motors has unveiled a groundbreaking addition to its lineup with the introduction of the 2023 Tata Nexon.ev. This electric marvel is available in three trims – Creative, Fearless, and Empowered, and it comes in either Medium Range (MR) or Long Range (LR) configurations. Initially offered at an introductory price range of Rs 14.74 lakh to Rs 19.94 lakh (ex-showroom, all-India), it’s important to note that these prices are available for a limited period.
Sleek and Contemporary Design
The 2023 Tata Nexon.ev facelift showcases a sleek and contemporary design, drawing inspiration from Tata’s Curvv concept. It differs subtly from its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, with improved aerodynamics to enhance range. The electric Nexon features a single-tone body-colored grille, distinct from the blacked-out grille on the ICE model. A full-width LED light bar serves as a charging status indicator, running across the vehicle’s nose. The updated headlamp design, sequential LED DRLs, and new alloy wheels contribute to its sporty appearance.
Premium Cabin Experience
Inside the cabin, the 2023 Tata Nexon.ev mirrors the layout of the new ICE Nexon, delivering a multi-textured, premium experience. A traditional gear selector replaces the previous dial, while a 12.30-inch touchscreen display with a new user interface takes center stage. The 10.25-inch HD instrument cluster can display maps with a multi-dial view option. The SUV is equipped with a 360-degree camera, wireless charger, ventilated front seats, air purifier, type-C ports, sunroof, JBL audio system, and voice commands.
Efficient Powertrain
The second-generation permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) of the Nexon.ev is 20kg lighter and more efficient. The MR version boasts a 127.23bhp unit, while the LR features a 143bhp unit, both delivering 215Nm of torque. Drive modes include City, Sport, and Eco. The MR model is equipped with a 30kWh battery pack, while the LR version houses a 40.5kWh battery pack. Tata claims an impressive range of 325km for the MR and 465km for the LR, marking a 12km improvement over the previous model. The MR accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in 9.2 seconds, while the LR achieves it in 8.9 seconds.
Swift Charging and Advanced Features
The 2023 Tata Nexon.ev facelift comes with a 7.2kW AC charger, requiring 4.3 hours to charge the MR’s battery from 10 to 100%, and 6 hours for a similar charge for the LR. With a 50kW DC fast charger, charging time is reduced to just 56 minutes for a 10-80% charge. Notably, the LR version offers vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities.
Comprehensive Warranty
In terms of warranty, the motor and battery pack are covered by an 8-year or 1,60,000km (whichever comes first) warranty, providing peace of mind to EV enthusiasts. The vehicle itself comes with a standard 3-year or 1,25,000km (whichever comes first) warranty. Notably, the battery constitutes a significant portion of an EV’s cost, making this warranty particularly valuable.
The 2023 Tata Nexon.ev represents a significant leap forward in electric mobility, offering an enticing blend of style, technology, and efficiency. With its competitive pricing and advanced features, it’s poised to be a game-changer in the Indian electric vehicle market.
