Lotus Makes Grand Entrance into Indian Market with Eletre SUV

Exclusive Motors Introduces British Luxury Sportscar Brand to India

For luxury car enthusiasts in India, renowned British sportscar manufacturer Lotus has officially marked its entry into the country. The much-anticipated debut features the Lotus Eletre SUV, positioning itself as the most expensive and powerful electric SUV available in India, with a starting price of Rs 2.55 crore (ex-showroom).

Exclusive Motors: Bringing British Elegance to Indian Roads

Exclusive Motors, known for their role as retailers for Bentley in India, is spearheading Lotus’s foray into the Indian automotive market. The first dealership is set to open its doors in New Delhi, with plans for additional branches across the country.

Lotus Eletre SUV: Unmatched Performance and Variants

The Lotus Eletre SUV lineup boasts three distinct variants: the base model, Eletre S, and the high-performance Eletre R. Two powertrain options are available, featuring a 603bhp dual-motor setup for the Eletre and Eletre S, while the Eletre R commands a formidable 905bhp dual-motor setup. Torque figures are equally impressive, ranging from 710Nm to 985Nm.

Lightning-fast Acceleration and Extended Range

Acceleration enthusiasts will appreciate the Eletre R’s exceptional ability to reach 0 to 100kmph in just 2.95 seconds. The other two variants, though slightly slower, still boast a commendable 4.5 seconds for the same sprint. All three models share a standard 112kWh battery, providing the Eletre R with an impressive range of 490km according to WLTP standards, while the other variants offer a range of 600km according to WLTP.

Pricing and Market Competition

The Lotus Eletre is priced competitively, with the base model starting at Rs 2.55 crore, the Eletre S at Rs 2.75 crore, and the high-performance Eletre R at Rs 2.99 crore (all prices ex-showroom). While the Eletre stands alone in its category, its price point places it in direct competition with luxury SUVs such as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, Maserati Levante Trofeo, Mercedes-AMG G 63, Lamborghini Urus S, and the Audi RS Q8.

Upcoming Arrival: Lotus Emira

Building on the momentum, Lotus is set to introduce the Emira to the Indian market in 2024. The Emira, featuring the last internal combustion engines for any Lotus car, offers a choice between a V6 producing 400bhp or a 360bhp four-cylinder powerplant.
