The brands latest SUV will be available to customers for the upcoming festive season
Citroen will commence bookings for the Citroen C3 Aircross in September, while deliveries will start in October. The date for the price announcement has not been confirmed by the French automaker yet, but is expected to happen simultaneously with the bookings commencement.
2023 Citroen C3 Aircross: what is it?
The Citroen C3 Aircross is the fourth model from the brand in India, which includes the C3, e-C3 and the C5 Aircross. This particular car does share its name with another premium hatchback sold in Europe, however the India-spec car has been developed specifically for India with over 90 percent localisation, as claimed by Citroen.
The C3 Aircross will enter the highly competitive midsize-SUV segment, which has cars like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and the new Honda Elevate.
2023 Citroen C3 Aircross: features
While it may not match its rivals, the C3 Aircross does get features such as halogen headlamps, LED DRLs, 17-inch alloys, 10-inch infotainment display, digital instrumentation and roof-mounted aircon vents. The brand will also be offering two seating configurations, which has a 5-seater variant, and a 5+2 seater variant. The former has a 444-litre boot while the 5+2 gets a 511-litre boot with the two seats removed.
2023 Citroen C3 Aircross: engine
As it is based on the same platform as the C3, the C3 Aircross too uses the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. This produces 110bhp and 190Nm of torque, which is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The brand is expected to introduce an automatic gearbox at a later stage. Citroen claims an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 18.5kmpl.
2023 Citroen C3 Aircross: price range
Based on the engine and tech it comes with, the Citroen C3 Aircross is expected to fall in the Rs 10 to Rs 15 lakh price bracket. This will allow it to compete with the lower and mid-spec variants of its rivals, which in their high-end trims offer a huge amount of features, and come with more powerful engines as well as automatic transmission options.
